- Optimising a website such as using relevant words, creating quality content, well-structured websites allowing it easier to find and rank higher in Search Engine Results Page (SERP).
- Findability
- The easiness of a user finding information about your website. If a website is more findable, the easier it is for the user and search engines to locate and navigate to the site.
- Folksonomy
- An autonomous tagging-system where users enters keywords or tags to organise and categorisae information on the web.
- Indexing
- The process of a search engine organising its content from collection, analysing, and storing information from existing webpages
- Crawling
- The process of search engine discovering and gathering what URL (Uniform Resource Locator) exists on the internet
- Sitemap
- A list of all pages available on a website which also defines the structure of a website.
- Backlinks
- External links from other page sources that redirects to your website. The higher amount of backlinks to your website, the better the web traffic and the easier to be indexed.

- A type of mark up which allows machine to easily read information from the website such as events, addresses and contact information.

- A text file within a website folder which gives set of crawling direction and boundaries for search engine bots when exploring the website.

- Unethical techniques which goes against search engine optimisation guidelines to improve a site\'s rank. Similar to cheating in an exam and it can result in penalties.
- White Hat SEO
- Using ethical and legitimate strategies to optimise a site\'s ranking on search engine. It allows the site to be more trusthworthy.
